Die Inspiration zu EIXAMPLE entstand 2006 während einer spannenden Ausstellungsvorbereitung in Barcelona. Eixample ist die Bezeichnung der modernen Planstadt, dem Zentrum Barcelonas...im Katalanischen die zentrale Linie, von der rechtwinklig Seitenlinien abzweigen. In meiner eigenen Werkentwicklung steht die Skulptur im Kontext der Schichtungsarbeiten und ist zugleich aus einem einzigen Stück gefertigt. Die reduziert-geometrische, fast konkrete Konzeption gewinnt immer wieder durch die Umgebung sowie situative Einflüsse eine letztlich sinnliche Organik.

The Inspiration to EIXAMPLE came in 2006 when I was preparing an exhibition in Barcelone. "Eixample" is the modern urban masterplan of BCN`s centre...in Catalan it means one main line with many squared "off branches". In my own workflow the sculpture could be seen in the context of the layered works, however it is made out of one single piece of stone! The minimalistic, almost concrete conception broken by environemental and spontaneous influences leads always into a contemplative impression...
