back_from at the Kunstverein Freiburg mit Jochen Kitzbihler Oktober 2014

As part of an iaab scholarship abroad, Freiburg artist Jochen Kitzbihler traveled to Fremantle, the port city of Perth, in Western Australia in 2013. His luggage consisted mainly of a camera, a touring bike and a great curiosity for new territory. During his six-month stay, the artist explored the south-western part of the Australian continent on several extensive tours. In a lively interaction of immense (cultural) landscape impressions and reflections in the studio, a medially diverse and site-specific body of work emerges that continues and expands on his previous work. In a mix of travel documentary and work report, Jochen Kitzbihler presents his lasting experiences.
